Ted was first appointed to the Clive City Council in 2010.  He was re-elected in 2011, 2015, and 2019 and also serves on numerous regional boards and commissions representing the citizens of Clive and the Metro area more broadly.   

He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a regional transportation and infrastructure board; as well as the Board of Directors for the ICON Water Trails organization; the city's Animal Control Review Board; the city's Personnel Committee; and has previously served on the Clive Citizens Budget Committee and Clive Parks and Recreation Board.

Ted was born in Won Ju, South Korea and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He moved to Clive in 2006 and currently serves as a residential real estate agent for RE/MAX Concepts in West Des Moines.  Since beginning his real estate career in 2008 he has been a national top 20% producer every year, is a member of the lifetime Re/Max Hall of Fame, and is one of the top agents in the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors (DMAAR). He has served on the DMAAR Board of Directors starting in 2016, including 5 years on the Executive Board of Directors, as well as President of DMAAR from 2021-2022.

Ted also spent over 12 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserves in the states of Indiana, South Carolina, and Iowa. As a field artillery captain he’s served in numerous positions including Fire Support Officer, Fire Direction Officer, Signal Officer, and Battle Captain; and was also an honor graduate of the Ft. Sill Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course in 1996.

Ted graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in History in 1993; from Clemson University with an M.A. in History in 1996; and from the Keller Graduate School of Management with an M.I.S. in 2003.

Ted and his wife Connie have three sons, Brady, Kyle, and Jack, and have been residents of Clive since 2006.
